Kathryn Florence Celebration

September 11, 2024
10:00am - 5:00pm

After a long battle with Alzheimer's, my mother Kathryn Florence Reustle (born September 11, 1932) passed away in the loving arms of my siblings and myself on February 23, 2019. Prayerfully, she is enjoying the comforts of Heaven in the presence of our Heavenly Father, reunited with my earthly father, Walter Arthur Reustle. Their wedding photo, taken September 19, 1953, adorns the front of the bottle. On the back label is a photo of my mom helping to crush our first Chardonnay..."I Love Lucy" style! Come join us for the official release of the 2021 Kathryn Florence to honor and celebrate her life. Ten percent of the proceeds from this wine are donated directly to Altzheimers research.

About the Blend

Colloquially known as a “GSM blend” Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre (more-VEH-drha) have long reigned supreme in the blends of the Southern Rhone Valley of France where this spicy trio makes sturdy and age worthy reds. Adored for its spicy white pepper aroma, Mourvèdre is unfortunately incapable of ripening in the cooler climate of the Umpqua Valley. Consequently, Stephen needed to find an adequate substitute for Mourvèdre. Possessing similar qualities with Mourvèdre, Stephen deemed Merlot an ideal blending companion for this GSM style wine.
