April 10, 2013

2010 Syrah Invited to 6 Nation Wine Challenge
April 10, 2013

Dan Berger has selected 100 individual USA wines covering 16 classes in the Challenge against Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile and Argentina in the 2013 judging to be held during August in Sydney. In total there will be 600 wines challenging. All wines are entered by invitation from the six judges making the Challenge ‘unique’ in the global wine industry.

Berger will judge alongside Chairman Bob Campbell MW (New Zealand) Michael Fridjhon (South Africa), Huon Hooke (Australia), Fabricio Portelli (Argentina) and Eduardo Brethauer (Chile) to establish 16 Trophies, White Wine of Show, Red Wine of Show, many Double Gold and Gold medals and the Nation of Show which will be announced to the world-wide media as the New World Champion nation.

The 16 trophy winners will be given a full page advertisement in the 2013 Results Magazine. All 16 will be featured at the Trophy Presentation Degustation Dinner in Sydney on October 3. All 100 entered wines will be exposed to the Australian trade, media and public at a major tasting event on the same day in Sydney. These events will be followed by trophy dinners in Auckland and California plus trade tastings in Cape Town, Santiago and Buenos Aires. A master class of the winners is also being planned for Hong Kong.

The 16 Trophy winners will be required to make three dozen of the winning wine available at no cost for the marketing purposes mentioned above. Simply by being invited into the Challenge is an honour and you may use our logo to advertise the fact that your wine has been selected into this prestigious event. If you win a trophy or a medal you will be sent the related artwork which you can use on your web site or any marketing collateral announcing your participation.
